Be a Valuable Part of
Our Nursing Team

Nursing Assistants work on inpatient units and interact directly with patients to assist them with personal needs. Because of the amount of time they spend with patients and the nature of the care they provide, Nursing Assistants play an extremely important role in making the patient's hospital stay as comfortable as possible.

Advance your Career with The University of Vermont Health Network

While you'll serve a vital role on our Nursing team, you'll also be given the opportunity to develop your career through our Nursing Assistant Advancement Program. This program gives you the opportunity to advance in the Nursing Assistant career ladder when demonstrating professional development. The goal is for our Nursing Assistants to develop into experts in each area of practice and to engage in gradually expanding work that will improve the quality of patient care we provide across the organization.

Our Nursing Assistants are also able to participate in the Nursing Assistant Council of Nursing Professional Governance. The Nursing Assistant Council creates a forum for Nursing Assistants to collaborate with nursing leadership and have an influence on positive change for Nursing Assistants across the organization.
